How to apply your foundation with a brush:

Pump a small amount of foundation onto the back of your hand. Using your fingers or the brush, dab the foundation all over your T-zone your forehead, nose, and chin. Then, dab the foundation onto your cheeks with a flat foundation brush or a flat-top stippling brush, spread the foundation in small, circular motions. Ensure the foundation is evenly coating your face, from your hairline to your jawline. After blending, you can go back and add more foundation to any areas that need more coverage. You can use the sides of the brush to cover hard-to-reach places.

How to apply your foundation with a sponge:

The first step is wetting your sponge. You should never use a makeup sponge dry to apply foundation. Put your sponge under water about eight times until it's fully saturated. Then, wring out the excess water. Not only will this give you more of a natural finish that you can build upon, but it also won't allow the sponge to soak up excess foundation.

With your fingers, apply dots of foundation all over your T-zone, your forehead, nose, chin and cheeks; then gently press the rounded side of the sponge onto your skin to provide coverage. Bouncing or dabbing is preferred as it allows the product to melt into your skin, creating a seamless finish. Use the pointy edge to target hard-to-reach areas like around the nose.

For the final step in your foundation application process, dust fine, loose powder over your face with a fluffy brush to set your foundation.
